Acdsee duplicate finder only custom4/25/2023 I know there is a bunch of image viewers with more than it takes to manage the every day needs of the average family guy. I just want to make clear that I am not trying to start a war here. (I am a qualified graphic designer so I know about this knid of stuff).Īlso, I like the ability to have the Favorites list in AcDsee allways visible. Plus, I've noticed that converting images to JPG AcDsee beats gimp and photoshop hard! I don know how they made it but I can achieve smaller sized files with much better quality. It has the best of both worlds and still it is quick to load. Remember these are supposed to be viewers not complete suites - Well, this is what makes AcDsee 9 so cool. Again, this makes it very powerfull and fast. ![]() For version 9 they managed to make it customizable so you only load what you really need, the other tools are always available on demand and they load fast too. Versions of AcDsee 3 to 8 sucked hard because they were slow and bloated. Photoscape, irfanview, xnview and faststone are way better than acdsee - GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Maybe you tested AcDsee v2 or v3 10 years ago. Image editing in gThumb - Years behind the tools included in AcDsee 9. Very annoying when you are copying a folder with 100+ duplicate names. Yes, and you have to enter manually each new name. AcDsee lets you define and combine several image sizes, dpi resampling, paper sizes, margins, several printing layouts, etc. This makes it very fast, yet powerful.Īdvanced printing options. You can customize which modules to install or to load each time you open AcDsee. Not acceptable.ĪcDsee loading all the advanced editing stuff to show up in the image viewer. GThumb hangs when I try to load a directory with many large pics. this ones provides fairly fast image viewing and some rather handy/power editing tools.īy the way, in windows, photoscape, irfanview, xnview and faststone are way better than acdsee. Simple (yet very useful) image editing, without having to open Photoshop or Gimp. Supports customizing actions, like renaming, when copying files to a folder with duplicate names (I love this one because my camera always starts naming pictures from IMG0001.jpg). (remember these are supposed to be viewers not complete suites)Īdvanced printing options. yesĪdvanced and automatic color, contrast, etc correction features.not so "advanced" bbut works for most quick retouching. i dunno if fast enough for u :PĪdvanced resize, rotate and convert features. ![]() (not by double click but still fullscreen)Īdvanced rename, and sort options. If any one has had any success in finding (or developing) a real contender for AcdSee (v9, v10, or Pro) please let me know!!!ĭouble click for real full screen (black background, no tool bars). KDE is like a Fisher Price or Gymboree-like environment (sorry for those KDE users, it's just my opinion). I cannot stand the big blue icons of the KDE theme everywhere. ![]() I'm not going to move 10 Gigs of well organized photo folders just because digiKam wants to create its own albums. ![]() Its inability to browse folders (that's so dumb!). Still I would be willing to use it if it wasn't for: It lacks a lot of the features and ease of use I'm looking for. So far the best software I've used in ubuntu is digiKam, but it's still years behind AcDsee. They may be enough for mommies who want to sort a few pictures of the last vacation, but they are definitely not suited for power users. Everything in the same program.Īll the software packages I've tried in Ubuntu are just too basic (gThumb, fSpot, even infraviw through wine). In a few words, AcDsee has a lot of very advanced and useful features, yet they managed to make it easy to use. I love AcdSee 9, some of the features I like about it (and I use them a lot!) are:ĭouble click for real full screen (black background, no tool bars).Īdvanced resize, rotate and convert features.Īdvanced and automatic color, contrast, etc correction features.
